Benneton adult male Poodle (Pure) Benetton came to us after being rescued in the Jackson County Cruelty Case. He is about eight years old, and weighs just 7 pounds. Ben, as his foster mom calls him, is discovering a whole new world! He is fascinated by the television, and very curious about what is beyond every door. Ben gets along well with his canine siblings, and is learning to ignore the resident cat. He is learning to walk on a leash, sleep in a bed, and play with toys, which he absolutely loves! Like all of the dogs rescued from the breeder bust, Ben will need a lot of training and socialization. So far, he’s enjoying every minute of his new life! Due to his small size and socialization issues, Ben will need an adult only home now and in the future. We do not recommend any of the Cruelty Case dogs for first time or inexperienced dog owners. Brownie Baton Rouge adult female Shepherd (Basset Hound) Brownie Baton Rouge is a sweet as she can be Shepherd/Basset Hound mix. She is a year old and is a goofy, playful puppy! She currently weighs 42lbs. Brownie has irresistible brown eyes and an adorable wrinkly face. She lost her home for circumstances beyond her control but is happy to meet new people and will be a wonderful addition to her future forever home! Macaroni adult male Jack Russell Terrier (Mix) This is Mr. Macaroni! He is an adorable Jack Russell Terrier mix; he looks just like 'Eddie' on the TV show Frasier, just a little bigger! He is 3 years old and weighs 18lbs. Macaroni is happy for a second chance on life, he didn't come from the best of circumstances. “Mac” is a friendly, happy dog, with plenty of energy, but not wild. He is doing wonderfully in his foster home where he gets along with all the other dogs and is good with visitors/strangers. Mac likes to cuddle, is very smart, and has great house manners. Sippy Wallace adult female Pomeranian (Chihuahua) Sippy Wallace is a little Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. She weighs only 7lbs and is about 10 years old. Sippy is blind for the most part and can only see shadows, although that doesn’t seem to slow her down! Sippy loves to follow her foster mom around the house. She's got a fabulous disposition! She's calm, quiet, sweet and cuddly with great house manners. She is a perfect lap dog and perfect apartment dog. Miss Sippy will need an adult-only home now and in the future. Rudolph adult male Chihuahua (Mix) Rudolph is a handsome brown and white chihuahua mix. He is 6 years old and weighs about 11lbs. He follows his foster mom everywhere and loves to be held. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and has no clue that he has a heart murmur. He does, however, and we are having it evaluated very soon. We'll post more information about him as we learn more. No small children for Rudolph. SmallDog Rescue considers Rudolph a permanent foster. His foster family is committed to loving and caring for Rudolph for the rest of his life, however long that might be and SmallDog Rescue is committed to paying for his medical care, as expensive as it may become. Thunder Bird (T-Bird) adult male Pekingese (Pure) Thunderbird, affectionately known as T-Bird, came from the same place as the Tennessee Nine. This handsome peke was used as a stud in a puppymill, living in horrible condition. Fortunately, he is better shape than the girls we rescued (the benefits of not having carried many litters of puppies) and doesn't appear to have any major health issues. T-Bird will need an adult only home and, preferably, one that is experienced with the pekingese breed. T-Bird does not regularly attend our weekly adoption events.
