Captain Underpants
adult male Chihuahua (Miniature Pinscher)
This black and tan cutie is Captain Underpants! He is a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix that weighs about eight pounds
and is about seven years old. He is a very energetic, playful boy that loves attention. "Cap" does
have a heart murmur that requires daily inexpensive medication. However, Captain has absolutely no clue about
his condition, and is as lively and feisty as they come. He does well with other dogs. "Cap" will need an
adult-only home.

Poplar (Pop) Adult Male Chihuahua
Sorry but we are no longer accepting applicants for Poplar. Poplar is his full name, but like many SmallDog Rescue dogs, this little Chihuahua has a little nickname, good ol’ “Pop.” Pop had the
misfortune of becoming a stray, but was fortunate enough to be found by a Good Samaritan who passed him on to SDR to help him find his
forever home. He’s a little shy and unsure, but he is coming around. Due to his small size, Pop will need an adult-only home now and
in the future.

Spruce Adult Male Miniature Pinscher
Spruce is a handsome brown and tan Miniature Pincher with matching soft brown eyes. He is 5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Spruce is a
sweet little guy with a mysterious past. He arrived at a local animal control with what looked to be grease burns on his back. He’s
clearly gone through a lot just to get to SmallDog Rescue, where he can finally find a loving home. Understandably, he can be a little
shy on first meeting, but he warms up quickly and enjoys attention. Due to his small size and history, Spruce will need an adult-only
home now and in the future.

Eachan
adult male Chihuahua (Mix)
His name means “Little Horse,” but, in case you haven't noticed, Eachan is a little DOG – a tri-color Chihuahua mix,
in fact, who tips the scales at about 10 pounds. Eachan is estimated at 5 years old. He came to us from an area
county animal shelter, after being picked up as a stray and with a badly broken rear leg. He managed to hobble around
pretty well on three legs, but SmallDog Rescue and our vets stepped in to repair his shattered leg. Despite his injury,
this little guy maintains a friendly, trusting, sunny disposition. He’s on the mend but will be in recovery for several
weeks.
SmallDog Rescue does NOT shy away from injured dogs like Eachan, but their medical bills can be very expensive. If
you would like to help defray the cost of Eachan’s surgery, you can mail your donation Small Dog
Rescue at P. O. Box 888570, Atlanta, GA 30356 for Eachan. For your convenience, we also accept credit
cards and PayPal. Just click below. Thank you!

Gilley Gambel Oak adult male Rat Terrier (Mix)
What a stroke of luck for Gilley Gambel Oak! This 14-pound, 3-year-old Rat Terrier mix was found as a stray by Good Samaritans
who knew just what to do. They took him in, looked high and low for his owner and, when their efforts were exhausted, they turned
to SmallDog Rescue to help Gilley find his home for life. Nicknamed “Doodlebug,” this little man is super-sweet, confident and
affectionate. He bonds nicely with his people and loves lap-time. He’s a fast learner and seems to be picking up quickly on proper
house manners. And he really enjoys the company of other dogs, so a home with an equally social dog-pal would be a big plus. We
are unsure about children or cats, so Gilley might be best-suited for an adult-only home or one with older children.

Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy adult female Cairn Terrier (Schnauzer)
Jackie is an absolutely precious black-and-white Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer (and maybe a little Pekingese) mix who has had a rough
go of it until now. She weighs in at 12 pounds and is about 3 years old. Jackie was saved by another agency, then turned over to
SmallDog Rescue – afraid and withdrawn. In foster care at last, she is gradually coming out of her shell and giving us glimpses of
the things that give her joy. Jackie is still figuring out how much she can trust her human friends, but, little by little, she is
shedding her wariness. She lives and plays really well with other dogs. She enjoys having a secure, fenced yard where she can breathe,
explore and spread out a bit. Every once in a while, she even lets her guard down enough to reveal a hint of mischief. This is a sweet,
exceedingly cute little girl who needs an experienced, gentle, patient home where she can learn about the good life. No young children,
please

Laura Mercier adult female Beagle (Bassett Hound)
Laura Mercier is a 2.5-year-old Beagle mix with a tri-color coat. She weighs about 32 pounds. Laura was rescued from
a nearby state where she and two other dogs had been dumped in the country to fend for themselves for 4 months. She
has a shy side that she is rapidly shedding as she learns in foster care the joys of being a loved companion. Laura is
very sweet and loving with adults and children. She would be best-suited to a calm-yet-active household. She is energetic,
loves toys, and LOVES to run and play with other dogs. A securely fenced yard and a fun like-sized dog-companion would be
huge plusses. No small children for Laura Mercier, please.

Nicoya adult male Terrier (Mix)
Nicoya is a terrier lover’s dream. Nicky is white-and-tan, 5 years old, 16 pounds and friendly as all get-out.
He ended up with SmallDog Rescue after a short stay in a local animal shelter. He loves people and will rub up
against you like a cat. But putting him in the company of real cats is probably not a good idea. This typically-energetic
terrier is playful, happy and just an all-around nice guy. To top it off, he gives great kisses. Nicoya would
make a dandy family dog, but no small children, please.
