Captain Underpants adult male Chihuahua (Miniature Pinscher) This black and tan cutie is Captain Underpants! He is a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix that weighs 7lbs and is about 3-4 years old. He is a very energetic, playful boy that loves attention. Captain Underpants does have a serious heart murmur that prevents us from having him neutered (due to the strain of anethesia on his heart). He is not on medication as it wouldn't help in this situation. However, Captain has absolutely no idea that he is sick and runs around, happy and playful. He does fine with other dogs. Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy adult female Schnauzer (Terrier) Jackie is an absolutely precious black-and-white Schnauzer/Terrier mix who has had a rough go of it until now. She weighs in at 12 pounds and is about 4 years old. Jackie was saved by another agency then turned over to SmallDog Rescue – afraid and withdrawn. The good news is she is slowly coming out of her shell as she figures out that only kindness and gentle hands will greet her now. Kiana adult female Terrier (Mix) Kiana is considered a Terrier mix, though she looks a lot like a Bouvier. Just over 4 years old, she weighs 46 lbs. and has been spayed. She has been successfully treated for heartworms, and all shots are current. She's calm and friendly, and will be a beauty once she's groomed. La Paz was turned over to us by an area animal shelter. La Paz lives up to her name, which means "peace." She is sweet, quiet and gentle. She’s every-so-slightly shy on first meetings, but she warms up quickly to kind and friendly people. She'll crawl into your lap as soon you sit down. Any home would be lucky to have her. This 5-year-old, 16-pound sweetie is coming out of her shell and becoming more and more comfortable in her foster home. In fact, her foster mom says Martina is, in a word, AWESOME! She’s a super-sweet little girl who loves the attention and affection she has so long been denied. She has mastered stairs, walks well on a leash, comes from playtime in the yard when she’s called and gets along nicely with other dogs. Martina still has a way to go to gain confidence in her new world. This gentle creature would do best in a calm, patient, confident home with a family willing to give her all the time she needs to feel safe. No young children, please, for Martina. Nicoya adult male Terrier (Mix) Nicoya is a terrier lover’s dream. Nicky is white-and-tan, 5 years old, 16 pounds and friendly as all get-out. He ended up with SmallDog Rescue after a short stay in a local animal shelter. He loves people and will rub up against you like a cat. But putting him in the company of real cats is probably not a good idea. This typically-energetic terrier is playful, happy and just an all-around nice guy. To top it off, he gives great kisses. Zachary Taylor adult male Pekingese (Pure) Now here’s a Peke-lover’s dream. Zachary Taylor is a distinguished gentleman who likes his treats. This 6-year-old tan-and-black Pekingese was found as a stray and never claimed by his owner. He’s a bit portly at about 20 pounds and could use some regular exercise. Good thing he’s great on a leash and enjoys long walks. Zack also enjoys chew toys of any kind and plays with them like a puppy.
