What a story Sorley has to tell! If only he could speak Human. His name means “Summer Traveler” and, well, we guess
he was! Sorley has a tan, wiry coat and is about a year old. He came to us from a fellow agency
who nursed him to his current excellent health --- after he spent the first nine months of his life
fending for himself in the world with his mother. Thin, covered in mange and wary of people three months
ago, Sonny is now a handsome, healthy and social 12-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix. His mother has been
placed, and now Sorley is looking for his own forever home. He is leash- and crate-trained, rides well
in a car and gets along great with other dogs. He’s still a bit shy, but does well with people---especially
women. Because of his size and his history, we're seeking an adult-only home for Sorley.

Look into those soulful eyes! To know this special boy is to love him. Amos Andy is a sleek, handsome 30-pound Basenji mix.
He came to SmallDog Rescue as a fearful nine-month-old pup, the victim of mistreatment in his critical early life. He was
embraced here by friends who believed in him and took the time to teach him that there are people in the world he can trust.
In foster care, Amos blossomed into a loyal boy with lots of love to give. He is two years old now and ready for the right
forever home. Amos would much rather be with his people than outside, but he also really enjoys a good game of chase or tussle
with his four-legged playmates. Amos may be a mix, but he’s all Basenji – with the interesting quirks that entails. He is still
shy in unfamiliar situations, and it takes him a while to trust, but he is extremely smart and eager to learn. He greets his people
with a happy, wagging tail and sloppy kisses. He gets along great with other dogs, although he is a little intimidated by much larger
dogs. Amos would do best in a home with another compatible dog to pal around with, but NO CATS. He must have a securely fenced yard
to run around in. Amos needs an experienced, patient, caring, all-adult home, or one with easygoing, dog-savvy older children, to
show him how much fun being a much-loved pet can be!

We call this tiny gentleman Chopin. He is a very petite Yorkshire Terrier who tips the scales at only about 3½ pounds. He’s a shy,
sweet little man who has spent his 6 years of life in a large-scale breeding operation in another state. That outfit released a number of
dogs recently and we received some of them, including Chopin. He’s not entirely sure of himself right now, but Chopin is gradually
gaining confidence and will make someone a companion who’s easy to love someday soon. First, it’s time to nurse this tiny fellow back
to good health, then find him his forever home. No small children for Chopin, now or in the future.

What a cutie pie Carlo Antonio Campioni is! Carlo is a 3-year-old white Malti-Poo who weighs 9 pounds. He is one of a group of
itty-bitty dogs who came to SmallDog Rescue from a large-scale breeder that recently shut down its operation. He is very sweet but
lacks confidence with people. However, Carlo is extremely comfortable with his like-sized canine companions. Carlo would no doubt
do best in a home with at least one other dog to show him the drill. He needs a calm, dog-savvy home with the patience to help him

Look at that adorable face, how can you resist! Eleanor Rigby is a 12-week-old puppy who came to us from a breeder. She is a petite, 5-pound Chihuahua/Pekingese mix. only 3 ½ pounds. Not only that… Consuelo is missing one of her back legs. Bless her heart! Because of some scarring, we believe
she lost her leg in an accident. Don't tell Consuelo she has only three legs, though. She has no problems getting around, loves
to be held and will jump into your arms. What’s more, she'll let you know if she’s not getting enough attention. This teeny-tiny
wonder came to us from another agency. Now it’s time to find the home she was always meant to have. Because of her tiny size, no

This lovely white-and-blond Lhasa Apso is Eve Beglarian. Evie is 2 years old and weighs 13 pounds. She arrived at SmallDog Rescue
with a large group of dogs turned over to us by a commercial breeder who was shutting down its operation. Eve's coat was so tangled
and matted that we had to shave her down. She was very patient. After her makeover was done, she ran around with glorious joy and
abandon. It was wonderful to see! Eve is a little shy still, but learning about the kindness of her new human friends. She is very
sweet and clearly wants to know more about being loved and cared for. Next stop is her forever home. It could be yours.

Petite, pretty and precious. Those are the three P's that describe Hildegard of Bingen. Hildegard is a 2-year-old Bichon Frise who has
spent her short life in a large-scale, out of state commercial breeding operation. They recently closed up shop and turned Hildegard
and several dozen other small dogs over to us to find them forever homes. At a tiny 7 pounds, Hildy is a little shy and skittish when
she meets you for the first time, but she is getting the idea pretty quickly that she is on the road to being a pampered pooch. This
little sweetie is cute, cuddly and is coming slowly out of her shell. Next stop is her forever home. Because of her tiny size, no small

One look at her precious face, and you most surely will be smitten! Fanny Mendelssohn is a gray and tan Miniature Poodle with
personality to spare. You would never guess that she once was a “working dog” in a large-scale commercial breeding operation. She LOVES
people and gets along great with other dogs. When she meets you, she wriggles with excitement, jumps for joy and covers you with kisses.
Lots of tail wags are an extra added bonus from this darling little girl. Fanny is 3 years old and weighs 10 pounds. No small children

Milo came to SDR after losing 2 homes through no fault of his own. Milo is 3 years old and weighs about 30lbs (he’s shed over 10lbs
on the SDR diet plan!). He is a “Puggle,” half-beagle, half-pug, and you can tell, too! He has the sense of humor of a pug: he loves
to play with toys, chew nylabones, and play with other dogs. When his foster parents put a leash on him for a walk, he will take the
end of the leash and trot around the room walking himself in anticipation. He is truly a pug-like clown. He’s also half-beagle, with
the bay of beagle (so no apartments, please!), and the dogged determination of a beagle. He’s a smart boy that knows “sit,” and, to
the endless amusement of his foster parents, he can catch a treat in the air tossed to him from amazing distances. All he wants is
someone to love him as much as he loves them. You could run to the post office for 20 minutes, and when you get home you will be
treated to a hero’s welcome. Milo needs a home that will appreciate what a wonderful, quirky dog he is, and he’s hoping that the
third time is a charm.

clinic. After all efforts to find his owner failed, this sweet kid was handed over to us. Little Joey is very simply a nice, playful,

can fill a room with his joie de vivre. Levi was found by a Good Samaritan when he darted in front of her car. Lucky for him, she
reacted quickly and he was safe. When all her efforts to find his owner came to nothing, she turned to SmallDog Rescue to find the
right home for this life-of-the-party one-year-old. Levi is bright, friendly, active and very playful. All he needs is a little

large-scale commercial breeders. Whatever his origins, he is a friendly, lively boy with lots of personality.

Quincy is 5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. He came in to SDR along with his
friend (and probably brother), Young Yancee. Quincy was living his life in
someone's backyard where they just left him and the other dogs to breed over
and over. The numbers got out of hand and his owner didn't feel like dealing
with the dogs anymore. So, lucky for Quincy, he gets to leave that life
behind and start a new one on much better terms. Quincy is a sweet boy who's
a little shy but will come around with just a little patience. And besides,

Ok, so this guy isn't really that big, nor is he bad, and he's a dachshund mix, not a wolf! But, "medium shy doxie" just doesn't
have the same ring to it. Wolfie, as his foster mom calls him, is a sweet fella that can be a little shy upon meeting new people.
He is 2 years old and weighs 17 lbs. He has big, beautiful, soulfoul brown eyes. He is a total lap dog that is quiet. He gets
along great with other dogs but doesn’t require them as company. His foster mom says that he is the sweetest dog in the whole
wide world and that he is a "love bug," whatever that means. He loves to follow his foster mom around the house and when he is in
her lap, which is most of the time, he is sure to shower her with kisses. He is very smart and has pretty good house manners. Due
to his shyness, no small children for Wolfie.

Goodness gracious! Everyone who meets George Crumb immediately falls in love with him. George is black-and-white, 2 years old and
weighs 11 pounds. This adorable Shih Poo (Shih Tzu/Poodle mix) spent his first two years with a large-scale breeding operation in
Missouri that recently shut down. Now he is with us, learning about the good life. If his soft eyes don't melt your heart, his cuddly
nature will. George is quite shy upon first meeting, but pick him up and this sweet, sweet boy nuzzles into your shoulder as if it

This wary looking 6.5 pound ball of fluff is Orlando Gibbons! Orlando found
his way to SmallDog Rescue all the way from Missouri. He came to us from a
large scale breeding facility where he lived the first 6 years of his life.
It'll take him a while to transition from that environment to a loving home,
but boy oh boy will it be worth it! He can be a little nervous on first
approach, but once he's comfortable he is a friendly little lap dog. Orlando
will need an adult-only home now and in the future.

This is Dogwood … “Woody” to his good friends. We took this 6-year-old Lhasa Apso mix in from an area animal shelter. Poor Woody had
been picked up as a stray with a horrid injury to his right eye. Emergency vets did what they could to save it and stitched it close,
so that it could heal. Our vets opened Woody’s eye back up and are hopeful that he will have at least some sight. His left eye is fine.
In the meantime, this cheery, happy-go-lucky fellow is on a diet-and-exercise plan to shed a few of his hefty 25 pounds. Woody is a
friendly, sociable guy who gets along with people and other dogs and loves a good cuddle. He is a bit too fond of his toys, so no small
children for Dogwood, now or in the future.

Maple is a most endearing little girl. She is a white miniature Poodle / Bichon mix who is 3 years old and weighs 9 pounds. She is a
little unsure when she first meets you and retreats when someone tries to pick her up. Once she’s in your arms, though, she’s just
snuggly fine. And when she’s on the ground and free to play, she’s happy as a clam. Her little tail wags like crazy and she wants to
play with the other dogs. It is adorable to watch. Maple is gradually getting the message that it’s okay to trust her human friends. It

to the lifestyle, but then his owner was injured and could no longer care for him. What this sweet, 8-year-old needs now is a
calm, quiet, mature home where he can feel safe and loved again. He enjoys leash walks and loves car rides, but he’s not fond

Two-year-old Sarah Polk is about as sweet as they come. This ten-pound beauty is, best guess, a beautiful tan

the owner got in over her head with too many dogs. Sarah came out of her shell quickly and has shown us all the

that for this friendly, happy girl! It's time for the next chapter in her life. Clara is a joy. She enjoys the company of people and

Now here’s a fine fellow! His SmallDog Rescue name is Hamish MacConn, but he goes by Murdoch. He’s a charcoal gray Scottish
Terrier/Miniature Schnauzer mix who weighs a fit 19 pounds. Murdoch is a year and a half old. He lost his home through no fault
of his own. His family turned to SmallDog Rescue for help with finding him a forever home, and we're glad they did. Murdoch is tons
of fun. He’s a real cuddle bug who gives sweet kisses. He loves walks, riding in the car and really enjoys playing fetch. He plays
well with other dogs. He can get a little pushy with them when he gets wound up, but hey, he’s a Scottie! … he’s a Schnauzer!
Murdoch is a loving, lovable, fun-loving guy who is sure to brighten up the family lucky enough to make him a new member of their

Rudy Redwood is one great guy! He's approximately nine months old (as of early April) and a Beagle mix of some kind. Rudy currently
weighs just over 30 pounds. Rudy was found as a stray and went unclaimed, despite exhaustive attempts to find his owner. He's
extremely sweet, cuddly and friendly? and still full of puppy-ness. He's great with other dogs and cats. His foster mom says the great
things about Rudy are too many to list here. Rudy would be a super fit in just about any home.

to “Strong as Iron,” but he is sure to make you feel all “warm and fuzzy.” Trahern was found as a stray. After

find a new, permanent home. Tray – as we like to call him – is very simply a nice boy who will jump into

to broaden his horizons and get some exercise! At 22 pounds, he could stand to take off a pound or two. Frosty’s a sweet boy who’s ready

Her condition left us speechless. It is beyond our comprehension how someone can let bad things happen to such a
sweet dog. Rosita came to SmallDog Rescue from a local animal shelter. The animal control staff almost euthanized
her, but shaved away her disgusting, debris-filled mats instead. What they found under the mess was a tiny, sweet,
friendly, affectionate apricot poodle whose tail wagged non-stop. She is painfully thin and suffering from advanced
cataracts – despite her age, estimated at five years old. SDR has set to work, lavishing this little angel with
TLC to bring her back to good health, so that she will be ready soon for her forever home. No small children, please, for Rosita.

He’s a self-contained, busy guy who enjoys exploring the world around him. He’s friendly with people and gets along with other dogs,

to SmallDog Rescue. She is 8 years old and weighs about 9 pounds. Wherever she came from, she wasn't well cared-for. We know so, because
she’s missing most of her teeth. She was also suffering from a skin inflammation. But some meds, TLC and a good diet have brought her

back, and it is thick, white and wavy. It is sure to be his glory. Wolfgang was just recently surrendered by a large-scale, out-of-state
breeding operation. He’s very social, likes people, loves attention and gets on nicely with other dogs. He’s a sweet boy with a really
great attitude who’s ready to move on to the next phase --- living the good life in a loving home.

She’s about a year old and weighs 7 pounds. She was rescued in Mexico and found her way north of the
border with her pal Deva. Still feeling her puppy oats, Suchin enjoys playing with other dogs, loves
toys and LOVES being with her people. She will sleep on a doggie bed but is just as happy snuggling

turned over to a local vet clinic and eventually found her way to SmallDog Rescue. She is a very nice dog
who is a little shy at first, but warms up to you quickly. She has a pleasant disposition and gets along
with other dogs. The only thing missing now… a family of her own!

If you look in the dictionary under "Boston Terrier", you will probably see Tanoak. He is 3 years old, 17 pounds and oh-so-typical of
his breed -- sociable, fun and full of BT energy. When another agency took Tanoak in, he was emaciated and had a nasty case of
whipworms. They nursed him back to health before turning him over to SmallDog Rescue. He had cherry eye, so we undertook the
surgery necessary to fix that. Now Tanoak is spiffed up and ready to go. It's time for the next step ---
finding his forever home.

Cheech entered our program to find a safe, loving forever home. He gets along great with other dogs and has learned how to walk on a leash
quite well. His foster mom says, when he is happy, he does the cutest "show dog" strut. In short, she says, he’s “a great little guy!” Cheech

locate his owner failed. The Good Samaritan who found him turned him over to SmallDog Rescue. He was in pretty

with a gentle soul. Despite his time as a stray, he's very sweet and friendly. His pretty white teeth tell us he

Rusk is yet another wonderful Dachshund who came to us from an infamous puppy mill bust. This handsome 2-year-old
fellow has a burnished golden red coat and weighs about 12 pounds. Rusk is doing great in his foster home, and has really
blossomed! His foster mom says Rusk loves everyone and everything - from cuddling on your lap to chasing a ball, or squirrels. Rusk
would love to have a doggie companion in his forever home. He's is very active, and really would

shaved down because his coat was badly matted, and he currently bears an uncanny resemblance

glint of mischief in his eye. We're told by his caretakers that he's the "ringleader" of the group. He's a
rough-and-tumble little fellow who, like his littermates, loves a good puppy party, LOVES the attention of people
and immensely enjoys untying your shoes. Monty and his sibs are expected to grow to about 20 pounds or so at

weighs between 15 and 20 pounds. Shakir's foster dad has nicknamed him "Goofy", because he's still got a lot of
that puppy goofiness and energy in him. He LOVES people and LOVES flopping at your feet or, better yet, in your

life. She is sweet, quiet and a little shy, but not too shy to fare well with the young family who found her and her

Though her owners said they were coming for her, they never did. Another rescue agency eventually turned Aislinn

A diamond in the rough! Rio Celeste is a 6-year-old silver Pomeranian who was found as a stray by a Good
Samaritan who was unable to keep him. After all efforts to find his owner were exhausted, his rescuer turned
him over to us to find him a great home. At 9 pounds, Rio was woefully underweight and his coat had been frayed
by heavy flea infestation. He’s healing now, and with a good diet and lots of TLC, his coat will be back to
silver Pom glory very soon. Rio is easy-going, gentle, sweet, quiet, rides well in a car and gets along fine

Newman is a mature salt-and-pepper Schnauzer. He weighs roughly 18 pounds.
He's a great guy who enjoys people and gets along well with other dogs.
He came to SmallDog Rescue from a local animal shelter. Go figure
because Newman is very well-mannered and has an agreeable nature. He's not
big on tussling or playing with toys, but he does have a playful side and
gives occasional kisses. He's loyal and but not needy. When there's
activity, he likes to be near the action. When it's quiet, he could snooze
the day away. You can tell he's deep in slumber by his soft puppy snoring.
Newman has some endearing qualities that are all his own. His foster
parents have nicknamed him Babe, because when he gets excited or happy,
he'll "snort" like a little piggie. It's very cute. This Schnauzer
gentleman needs a loving family who appreciates a slightly-quirky, low-key,

assisted living facility. Clive was a bit confused about the loss of his home but has been taken under the wing of one of our wonderful foster
